CCMC Experience

Sumilon Trip Everything was set. After months of planning (and saving LOL), me and my friends were finally going to Sumilon. We were all very excited.

At around 8:00 pm, Saturday, me and my mom went out on my motorbike to buy some chips and bottled water for my Sumilon trip. We drove down Salinas Drive and turned right on Archbishop Reyes. As we approached the Grand Convention Center, I saw a car with a flashing left turn signal on. So we reduced our speed from 40 and eventually stopped a few meters away from the vehicle.

The Accident We were waiting for the car to turn left when something suddenly bumped the motorbike from behind. I heard a loud smashing sound as I was thrown forward. When I got up, I immediately looked for my mom. She was thrown off the bike because of the impact. I was relieved when I saw that she was all right. Except for some scratches on her legs and some bruises on her arms and shoulders, she was okay. My legs were numb and I found out that I had some bruises and bumps on my right shin and a huge nasty burn behind my left leg.

Commute Series

Today, my life changed. Officially. For the first time in about four months, I took a public transport to work. And I wont be taking one only for this day. No. I will be taking countless jeep rides until my motorbike is strong enough to face the horrible traffic again.

I feel sorry for Bobby. I really do. I could feel his pain.

My dad said he needs at least a week to recuperate. He had quite a nasty fall.

As for me, everything is getting worse. I can’t seem to move my legs and my kneecaps feel like they’re going to fall off anytime soon. Which is why I’m preparing extra lengths of duct tape in my bag.

Wounded Knees

I left for work at around 8:00 am. Trekking Gorordo Street everyday, I knew the route like the back of my hands. 80kph on Escario Street, 60 on Gorordo and 30 near JY Square would get me to the office on time.

Ok, let’s cut to the chase. I figured in a road accident…

Yes, that’s what this post is all about. A car was trying to make a U-turn to get to my side of the road. As a defensive driver and a Cebuano who genuinely believes that assholes should be given all the consideration that they need, I stepped on the brakes to stop.

Well, instead of JUST stopping, the traitor of a road swept me off my bike. I landed on the wet, slimy, and god-forsaken pavement with a very loud thud after I lost the most part of my knee caps. My bike earned a busted headlight, deformed stepknots and a right to have its wheels realigned.
